Motocross 338 - Southwick, MA
Southwick is home to the only AMA National event held
in New England, typically around the 2nd week in June. It is a sandy track carved in the loamy soil of the Connecticut river
valley. As the day progresses, this track can get about as rough as they get. It's been said ... if you can master Southwick,
you can race anywhere! The pros consider this the toughest track on the Outdoor AMA National Circuit.
Southwick can handle quite a bit of rain and in fact,
may be at it's best in a light rain.
The 38 acre site sits on the grounds of the American
Legion Post 338, hence the name.
AMA National Riders Doug Henry and John Dowd call
Southwick their "home track" and have been known to show up unannounced on race day to put in a few laps.
Facilities : The track includes a restaurant
that serves breakfast, lunch, drinks, ice cream, etc. Water is available at the track.
Bicycles : Please keep them at home, they are
forbidden on race day.
Gate admission fee : $ 10.00
Overnight camping : is allowed, no open fires!
Starting gate : Asphalt pad with traditional
42 rider backward falling gate.
